My name is Donna Ponath and I am honoured to be the President of the Melfort Business Revitalization Corporation. This not for profit corporation has been developed to help our downtown core and our City become the vibrant hub of our commercial and cultural activity.

The City of Melfort has been established as an accredited community under the Main Street Saskatchewan Program. This allows us to act as lead for the revitalization of the downtown district.

The Downtown District has been defined as Main Street, from Saskatchewan Drive to Stovel Avenue, and one block east and west of Main Street on Burrows Avenue and MacLeod Avenue. If you own a building within those parameters, you have access to various grants as shown on this website.

Our reach doesn’t end there. We are busy making Downtown busy again. We have already launched a successful evening at Memorial Park, and we are planning many more.

As of this writing, we have hired an Executive Program Director – Kirby Hardwick, who is working relentlessly at putting this program together. Ultimately, Ms. Hardwick’s office will be located at the  Historic Post Office, centrally located and available for the community to visit. Until we have some vital renovations complete, Ms. Hardwick’s office will be at City Hall.

We have awarded Cushing Terrell Architecture Group for our second step of the Main Street program called “Visioning.” This will help us understand what we can do with our Streetscaping as well as what our Commercial Business Owners can do to make our downtown core look inviting and vibrant.

If any of our citizens want to be involved, please contact Kirby Hardwick at 306-752-7908, or me at 306-921-7117. We will be happy to hear from you.
